Hi Masterlu.

Congratulations on the CR-1.
Unfortunately, I have never listened to them (but I have listened to the R1's).
You are one of rather few persons who really can compare them to the sound of the R1's.
Can you tell us on their sound compared the R1's ?
And how are they (the CR-1's) compared to other speakers you know well ?

Thank you; the CR-1's are definitely a close relative of the R1 (musically speaking) they amaze everyone that hears them. They throw such a sound stage with deep bass that you can't help but stop and listen.

As far as comparing them to other speakers goes; nothing I have heard in a stand mount can come close to touching them. Keep in mind these are quite expensive at $45,800 retail w/ stands.

I have compared the CR-1's side by side against multiple offerings from Aerial, and Sonus Faber. The CR-1's are my standout favorite; these and the R1's are the only speakers that I own 2 pairs of each. :music:

That is a most unfair comparison IMHO.

I would have to agree with Ivan. As good as the Duette 2's can sound as of now I have never heard them sound as good as CR1's.

ok, so no comparison i gather.
they are, after all, double the price of the wilsons, although i was basing the comparison on the premise of them being located in a small room with near-wall placement and near-field listening.

If you are dealing with placement restrictions then you might want to give the Wilson's a look. That is what they were designed for.
