Looks nice.

GreginNH1 09-07-2019 07:46 PM

This is good news

TOGA 09-08-2019 08:31 AM

This one will not play SACD I think.
Wait for D08X and I hope that will do everything.

In this day and age, I can't see the point of a non-universal player quite frankly.

Any updates on these releases

Luxman38 03-19-2020 04:58 PM

Stopped by my local dealer today and he just received the D-03x CD player. Wasn't hooked up. I'd like to hear it. Price is $3300. The internal DAC converts full MQA.

LUXMAN MQA CD Player

Impulse purchase of the D-03X. Arrives Monday and will post pictures. Hopefully it’s good as there isn’t any real feedback from anyone just yet.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to post a detailed opinion about it yet. Hope to get something up this week!

The Luxman D-10X (and D-03X) appear in the Luxman America 2020 Full Line Catalog (p 11) with footnote that appearance/specs subject to change prior to launch date. At this point it appears that the D-03X has been launched, but the D-10X not yet.

After much consideration between the Esoteric K-01XD, Lux D-10x & Soulnote S-3, all-in-one player cum DAC, chose the Lux D-10x. I won't go into the details, but the Esoteric was always the front runner, until the Lux appeared on this shore for the first time! Skipped the dCS One as its was way way out of my league. I am looking forward to receiving it mid-July.

Congrats on the Luxman. At least you wont have to worry about it being replaced in 2 years by a bigger and better version making its value plummet like some other brand mentioned.

Yes and thanks for the kind words. I'm planning to use this for a long, long time - especially the DAC for there Roon Nucleus+, USB hard wired as its neither "Roon Ready nor Roon Tested".

Big congrats on the Luxman! My dealer is expecting to receive his next month. I have been anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Hey, I WANT to hear the details. Specifically -- for redbook CD spinning alone, how would you rate pros and cons of Esoteric vs. Luxman?

I’m sure you will be happy with that player Jerry. I’m very happy with my Luxman sacd unit

Luxman38 06-24-2020 12:32 PM

Congrats on the D-10x. Are you going to get any MQA CD's. They sell them on evo88.com. Average price is $17.99. Very limited selection.:music:

Thanks for the tip on evo88.com. Although the delivery is in August, I had already 6 such CD's. Roger Chung-Song Book, Suzan Wong-Close To Me, Bob James/David Sanborn-Double Vision, Chantal Chamberland-Temptation, Bob James Trio-Espresso & Bob James/Kirk Whalum-Joined At The hip.

Thanks Serge. I made the decision, partly based on your previous advise about ever spinning a disc and on your Lux experience. Will definitely keep in touch to discuss or seek further advise once I receive the player in August.

I rate the machines based on their compatibility with Roon on costs and additional features. Sorry, cant help you on what you need to know as did not looked into spinning a red book. The Meridian 808.x is an excellent red book performer and I can vouch for that since I owned one before. If you WANT details, best you audition and compare them yourself (suggest to do this many times at dealers) as eventually, you are the going to own the machine based on YOUR decision. Happy hunting.

Good point. Luxman seems to have a much longer run for their models.

Hi GreginNH1,
Have you received your's? I was told mine is back ordered and earliest arrival would likely be Mid August, a month later. Oh well, patience rewards those who can wait ... If you did, share your views, at least I can share your joy and look forward to receiving mine in August (hope they stick to mid Aug and not pushed further back).
Cheers

I did not order one. My dealer has a demo unit coming in.

Purchased but not available as yet. Initially was told delivery early August but now pushed back to early September. Long wait ...... itch is unbearable as I wanted to test out the 2 features - MQA CD Playback, Roon support slitty (USBA hard wired).

Anthony 08-31-2020 08:42 PM

As per long standing Luxman tradition the XLR output connections have pin 3 as hot (signal) like Burmester, rather than most manufacturers in the world that use pin 2.
Luckily for global users they fitted a ‘phase invert’ button on the front panel to manage this aspect. [emoji106]

OK - I changed my mind and ordered one. It will be here on 9/10.

Yup! Mine finally came on Friday 4th Sep. Beautiful machine and what a blast. I don't know for sure (can never made a direct A/B comparison with Esoteric K-01XD or the dCS Rossini) but first impression is this is one excellent machine. Music simply is so natural and real. Smooth and not a tinge of harshness even for files. Ive posted pictures of my system in another thread so won't be doubling this here. Retirement had never been so busying exciting for me ... listening to music everyday. Looks like my plan to have a spare set of the Takatsuki 300B's is warranted.
