Krell Evolution 2250e Amp Review
|
Interesting review. I currently own a KAV 2250 and this is the obvious upgrade if I can't stretch to a 302e. Would fit into my existing equipment rack as a bonus. Anyone gone for one of these ?

I had 2250e for about 6 months. I had it paired it with Stradivari and it sounded very good. A bit on analytical side but clean, tight bass. Female vocals sound clear and "real" but not "sweet." Complex passages on orchestral pieces were reproduced very cleanly without distortions. Each instruments were distinct within the wide soundstage. Rocks and pop music were pleasure to listen to, with solid bass. Then, I home auditioned 302e and the difference was obvious. I thought the bass on 2250e was good, but 302e was on another level. The sonics are very similar, but 302e grips the speakers and everything sounds bigger with tighter control. I didn't know my Strads could produce that low and clean of a bass. My dealer tells me the Krell monoblocks would produce even better sounds. There is no end...

Hey Steve that's great info - sounds like I need to hold out for the 302 :)

If your wallet allows, I think 302e would be worth it. I also had MC601's driving Strads and I felt 302e had better bass and overall control. But then again, Krells and Mcintosh's have very different sounds.

Krell 2250e Amp
I just purchased a Krell 2250e and I feel very happy, driven my Focal Diablos and JL F112 Sub. The sound is almost perfect.

Krell 2250e Amp
I had the FPB 600C and the FPB 600C has more air and a 3D dimensional sound, but the 2250e is very good. Remember I just purchased and is in a break in period.
