XLR to RCA adapter
Anyone with experience using XLR to RCA adapters? Any brands recommended?

They range from elcheapo on Amazon, to Cardas & Burmester. I use the latter ones. |

I've owned the Cardas and felt there was too much of a tradeoff in sound vs going rca direct.
I don't think I've ever read anyone else post a disappointing experience with them so it might just have been with my gear. Either way it swayed me from ever using adapters again. |
I also use custom made WW Platinum XLR/RCA adapters.

I have a couple pairs of elcheapo rca to xlr and xlr to rca cables resting comfortably in my cable drawer. The cheapo adapters I've found do degrade the sound so I avoid them other than for testing purposes.

Aware of Cardas but did not know that WW is an option. Much obliged!

I have had to use both RCA to XLR and XLR to RCA Cardas Clear Beyond adapters and I keep a set of each here at all times for experiments.
They are the best I've used out of other top options. |
I have adaptor cables, middle ground, custom made by Blue Jeans. Used them to chase down a hum/ground loop issue a few years back.
The Cardas adapters are a very elegant solution and allow you to keep your existing cables. Wish I had found them first! |
