Bill.......Very attractive price point for a 100 w/p/c integrated amplifier and DSD DAC. The look is pure Yamaha circa 1980. I have never cared for the rectangular control knobs Yamaha seems to be in love with. They only look right when facing straight up, but that's just one person's opinion.

Don't see where it is made on the back. IIRC, Malaysia was where the A-S800 (previous edition) and the rest of the line, were made. Sad to see a once proud manufacturer of audio gear follow the trend of going 'off-shore' to the lowest bidder rather then make themselves.

Was just shopping for a CDP and decided against the Yamaha line as there are so many of their 'factory refurbished' CDPs and integrated amps available on-line. To me, does not speak well of their quality compared to days of yore.

This is a product that is very classic looking and has all the modern features. Some of the features alone make the A-S801 better than many other integrated amps. Would like to see what the reviewing critic and consumer has to say.

I actually just purchased one of these. It literally checks all the boxes for me: DSD DAC, phono preamp, good headphone amp and good amp section for my 12x13 office space.

Plus the price point is perfect. It should tide me over until I can afford a Luxman or maybe even a devialet :)

I owned a A-S801 for years. Loved the dynamic, revealing sound. I'd still have it if I didn't upgrade to a A-S3200.
