New VPI DD TT

VPI just teased what looks like a direct drive version of the Avenger on Facebook. It'll be revealed at the Capital Audio show. The looks aren't for me personally, but it's nice to see another DD table in their lineup.

That's OK, but my understanding was that they were going to offer a more pedestrian model that would be sub-$10K. That one appears to be headed in the opposite direction, price-wise.

Yeah, with the standard Avenger at $12,500 I don't see this model being under $15,000 and even that is likely a low guess. I'm happy with my HW-40 I got before the $5,000 price bump so I've got no horse in this race.

My guess is this will be close to 30

Spot on, 30k indeed for the Avenger DD: https://www.vpiindustries.com/caf.html

I was correct

It looks like VPI will be debuting a few new items, including a new SDS and new pickup arm.

And today VPI introduces the non-HW-40 DD model. So far from what Mat said it'll have piano black sides, interchangeable tonearms and cover is optional. The HW-40 ended at $20,000 list price so I'm curious to see how this table is priced.

Wonder when it will be available and at what price.

That is the question, I asked on FB but didn't get a reply. My guess would be no lower than the $20k of the HW-40, but who knows.
