what should be used to clean outside of equipment
It's time to clean the outside of all my McIntosh equipment. Any suggestion for cleaning the glass and black painted metal of the McIntosh equipment? I remember Ivan had a recommendation but I can not find it.
Thanks Ed |
I was told by McIntosh service to use Windex on exposed chassis of MC275 and on glass/chrome of C500.

Use a simple cleaning tissue for the outside if it's very dirty.
And never use something like a thinner for the inside of the glassplate.... |
Equally important to the cleaning solvent is the cleaning cloth. A baby diaper works well for me.

Best quality automotive microfiber cloth is what I use. If it’s good enough to be used on automotive clear coat paint without scratching, then it’s more than good enough for my gear which is not painted in gloss. |

I just use a slightly damp cotton or wool cloth. No cleaning solutions. I'm sure most cleaners should be fine but I'm paranoid so I only use water.

I use Sparkle Brand Purple Glass Cleaner that I spray on a Microfiber Cloth and wipe with great results.

I use glass cleaner. Spray on microfiber towel, Costco brand are fine. Spray on towel not directly on your equipment. Buff with a dry microfiber.
