Amati tradition vs rock and modern music
 

What do you think about Amati Tradition for rock and modern music?

I listen to music like Fogerty, Volbeat, Country and some modern music.
No classical, jazz or rap.

Does Amati play that well and give me that live feeling or should i look more at brands like Klipch and Jbl with bigger drivers.

I have Futuras and they can rock. I’ve heard the Tradition as well, and they’re great all-round speakers. I would argue that in modern speakers the size of the driver is less important than the speed and extension. Multiple smaller drivers can produce good, clean, fast, articulate bass. However, if you’re in the market for new and rock is pretty much all you listen to, there are plenty of other options. Wilson certainly comes to mind.

If I mainly listened to rock, I would look at Legacy Audio speakers like the Focus or Aeris. My good buddy is a die-hard rocker. He had Signature III, and now has Focus. They do rock much better than my Wilson Sasha's, my Amati Futuras, and my Stradivaris. You don't get the looks of Sonus Faber, nor the technology of Wilson, but Legacy speakers are a good value. They definitely rock!

I'm not a fan of SF speakers for rock,metal etc. Too dark

I listen to all kinds of music so my Amati Traditional are perfect. The classic is B&W / McIntosh for rock. My audio guy has just hooked up the new (I think) 800’s and wants me to experience the raw power and bass.. for the experience... if we had multiple rooms for audio in my house... then maybe one would be for this.

This is an older chain, but here goes….I have the SF Amati traditions and I listen to Allmans, Zep, the Dead, SRV, plus jazz and blues…..I love the McIntosh and Sonus Faber combo as they are perhaps not as revealing as Wilson or B&W thus some of the flaws in the rock recordings aren’t highlighted. I do have more neutral analog and DAC set ups to compliment the musicality of the sonus and Mac but it really works well for my rock and pop listening…..and my room is huge…18x38…all good…

I also love the McIntosh and Sonus Faber sound for all.types of music. What McIntosh amp are you using with the Amati in that space?

The Amati’s are incredible but if you want in your face slam and jam transparent rock ad roll then Wilson is the way…….. Sonus Faber is more subdued so classical rock they would be a good fit… I don’t think you would be unhappy either way

I am using a pair of Mc601 mono blocks but I am about to replace my Mac c2300 preamp with a Pass XP32 preamp. I am looking forward to this Pass/Mac combo. My Mac amps have plenty of power and control in this space. I consider going to Pass class A amps but first I will live with my Mac/Pass combo for a while! I have been listening to some of the Doors Vinyl pressings which sound fantastic!

my take on SF is that they are beutifull sounding speakers, but have a hard time with fast and energyloaded music
