I have a soft spot for BAT based on my history with one of the original principles.
I love the sound. |
Happy to see a BAT dedicated forum.....Can't wait to see the new DAC they are working on

bcarey13... Welcome to AA!
Thanks for your Support out of the chute too! |
It's great to find a dedicated spot to talk with other BAT guys.....It'll definitely cut down on my emails and phone calls to Geoff, who has been great to deal with.

I've known Geoff Poor for about 40 years and he's always been a pleasure to work with. He's extremely knowledgeable, personable and always willing to share his honest opinion when it comes to audio. Further he really makes an effort to cater to each customer's unique needs.

I just picked up a VK-30 in very good shape. It had a clean bill of health from BAT in 2017, I have the receipt. But it has very loud tube noise. On my efficient Tekton Moabs (listed as 98 dB but I think closer to 95) the static is so loud it is easily heard from the listening position, which is 12 feet from the speakers. It is so loud it is unusable as is. It has 6 Sovtek 6922 tubes now. I am debating on replacing the tubes and hoping the tube noise goes away, or returning it (I picked it up for $1,000 - not a bad deal).
Any thoughts? Thanks (I would make this its own post, but I can't. Maybe I need 5 replies or something first....) https://i.imgur.com/TiVugWzh.jpg |
