Go Ahead, Spend My Money!

I want to build another system, this time using all Bryston electronics. Figure on roughly 35-50K with speakers.

What would you do?

Application (2-ch, HT, or both)?

BDP and BDA is a given...hmm. Yeah, have to know the application. A pair of 28BSSTs may be over the top.

EB1i
28Bsst2's
BP26
MPS2
BDA1
BDP1
TORUS Conditioner

Hands down, this will be your best system.

For 2-ch, I agree with the above. I would add BCD1 if you don't want to integrate a music-server or PC-based source. In terms of speakers, from the lines that you carry I was going to chose the PMC EB1is or the Thiel 3.7s (this combo will get you closer to your $35K price point). If you want to move up, then I would consider the Vienna Acoustics "The Music" speakers at $27K. Although ofcourse, I would also consider the Wilson Sashas at that price point but you don't carry the Wilson line. The Kiss or the Sasha would get you closer to the $50K price point at retail.

I expressly didn't choose McIntosh or Sonus Faber speakers since the emphasis was on building a new system and this would be a good way of showcasing another speaker manufacturer.

Is this fact or fiction?

It's a fact, just 2 channel.

I think Ian hit the nail on the head, although I would swap the BDP1 for the BCD1, and drop the TORUS Conditioner for an a couple A/C Regenerators, maybe a pair of PurePower 2000's for a change.

I may have blown your budget, but this is my list:

28B SST2 Power amp (2)
BP26 Preamp
MPS2 Preamp Power Supply
BDA1 DAC
BCD1 CD Player
PurePower 2000 A/C Regenerator (2)
PMC EB1i Speakers
Wireworld IC's, PC's, and Speaker Cables

I can tell you Bryston sounded very good with SF Elipsa's :D
