Staging a comeback to R/C Helicopters
We don't seem to have too many R/C pilots on AA but I'll post anyways. I Have not flown helicopters for at least 10 years now but lately I got the itch to stage a comeback.
The helicopters have come a long way since then going from the flybar with paddles for rotor head stabilization to now flybar-less electronic gyro systems. Almost seems you need a computer degree to even setup one of those these days but I will put in the time to learn the new systems. :smoking: The skill of the pilots have also increased exponentially since then it seems with all the crazy 3D style flying but us older guys still tend to prefer the smooth, big air maneuvers or F3C style. So... I decided to pull a trigger on an Italian designed and built competition level helicopter. The Goblin Carbon Urukay F3C competition model which won the World Championship recently. It's a beauty. Wish me luck, I am hoping to keep it in one piece after I assemble, setup and fly it after the 10 year hiatus. :D http://www.world-of-heli.de/media/im...3blade-red.png http://blog-imgs-45.fc2.com/s/o/r/so...45410937_n.jpg http://www.goblin-helicopter.com/sho...es/SG726-4.jpg |

Will definitely spend more time at the R/C flying field this year for sure, I miss the hobby. Fortunately there is a good R/C club near my house. |

Ready to also get back into R/C cars after 25 years and then into helicopters and jets. Also researching astronomy and high-end telescopes.
Will be having a son soon so I need to get my hobbies in order :) |

I draw the line at helicopters, turbine jets are way too complicated, way too much $$$ and many clubs do not have the necessary space to fly them and I believe one needs a waiver from the AMA for jets. Luckily there are electric jets which are fun. |
