Anyone have experience with Greenline Yachts?

Looking for a Great Loop boat.

Their hybrid tech looks quite nice to me. Between diesel power and electric propulsion with all those panels this looks to be a great Loop boat where you will spend a good bit of time on the hook.

There is a broker here in Cape Coral who shows them around, beautiful boats in and out. They look ideal for a loop boat in terms of capabilities/range, etc, however the systems are purposely very sophisticated. I remember the one we were shown had the infamous Audi/VWPorsche diesel (I had one in a Touareg TDi). As you probably know, looping tends to work best for those who can DIY at least the maintenance, due to the many varied locations you end up in. I wonder if that might be a challenge on these, given the typical diesel trawler mechanic has never even seen one.

They don't use VW diesels anymore.

The hybrid has a Volvo Penta D3-220, the most popular marine engine in use today.

Most of the trips on the Great Loop are under 50 miles. Which can be done on battery power (running the diesel charges the batteries in about 1/2 hour).

I'm looking at a lightly used 39. Hope go see it after I get vaccinated.

Are electric boats a thing now? I don't know, it has been a while since I owned a boat and that had a Volvo-Penta in it that would suck the tank dry in a hurry. That was usually over $250 to fill up at the marina at that time. :sigh: Great memories though, we spent many nights on the water with the young kids.

I could go for a Tesla type E-Boat :D
