iPad advice for Aurender

I'm having a lot of fun with my new Aurender N100H, which is my first real streamer. I've never been a fan of Apple products, so I'm controlling the Aurender from my Android phone. Of course this is not the best way to interface with the Aurender app so I'm looking at the alternatives: an iPad or Android-based tablet.

As much as I tend to avoid the Apple universe, I can see that the iPad may have the advantage here, in part because of Airplay, which could be useful with the Aurender and which has no Android equivalent.

My question is, for those of you with iPads and the Aurender app: Do you think I could be happy with the simplest and least expensive of the iPads? Would the most basic iPad be ok? Would the screen on the iPad Mini be too small to be really useful?

I'd really appreciate your advice. Please consider that whatever I buy will be used as an Aurender controller and basically nothing else.

Hi,

I use what Apple calls their iPad New. I use the 128 GB version - not the 32 GB - and have no problems with displaying album covers, etc.

BTW, Aurender is suppose to come out with an iPhone App later this year.

I use an iPad and prefer its bigger screen over the phone.

I repurposed my wifes 3 year old IPAD mini. Work's great. Anyone of their products will suffice. Driver for a larger format with more memory would largely be to meet the needs of other usage other than the Aurender app

I have used both an iPad as well as iPad mini. The mini could get the job done but obviously the bigger screen would make things easier to see etc

Eventually you will start using the device to surf the internet or even store manuals, magazines, equipment reviews in iBooks where the bigger screen will work best.

Would not invest in one that has more memory. Screen size over storage for sure

I use an iPad mini that sits in an iPort charging base. Very functional and convenient. Here it is with my home automation program showing.

Just about any old iPad should work for you. Nothing fancy at all. No need for cellular model or a unit with large storage. Just pick a bare bones iPad but make sure that it is a model that is still supported by Apple.

I use a basic iPad with my Aurender. It is only used with the Aurender since I hate trying to type on an iPad.
