Preparing for move to Charlotte

Carmen and I have decided to move to south Charlotte. The allure of being with the grand kinds, now three in Charlotte, and half way closer to the fourth in Mount Pleasant SC, is too great. I am in the process of boxing up all of my gear to take to Charlotte and put in a climate controlled storage until we sell the Greensboro house and finally get into a new house. I have saved all of my McIntosh and B&W speaker boxes so will begin the process this week. I am thinking I should buy on Amazon a strapping kit to secure the boxes. Could use suggestions on what works. Also do you think I need climate controlled storage? Will probably be in storage for at least six months to a year so I am thinking so. As a side note I plan to put on the marketplace my McIntosh vintage gear in the office that is refurbished with new glass and also the office speakers. Look at my signature line to see what is there. I have to admit this move is difficult for us since being in this house since 1999, and separation from our church family, but we need to be closer to the grandkids. Thoughts, suggestions, support is much appreciated. Thanks for listening. Jim

Jim… Congrats on the upcoming move! Grandkids rule :banana:

Get this strapping kit on Amazon; I have used this for my small shipments;

PS: definitely go with climate controlled storage. :ok:

Congrats on the move Jim, grandkids are the ultimate lure, and the rewards are worth the cost - they kept us in the cold, rainy northwest when Hawaii beckoned.

In your humid part of the country, I'd strongly suggest climate-controlled storage.

Good luck with your move! For Carolina summers, climate controlled storage is highly recommended.

ULINE sells a similar kit, adds 48 more clips and actually quotes the break strength of 400 pounds. I have had great results with this kit:

Let me know where & when you put the vintage Mac stuff up for sale (I might be interested in buying the MC 2105). I'm in Chapel Hill, where are you presently located?

For storage get a unit off of the ground floor due to flooding/hurricanes. Congrats on your move. Wishing you a painless move.

Congrats Jim. When you find a good strapping kit please share with us. If I ever have to move my big Canton's I would need something to tie them down back on their pallet.
