Trigger power control of D1100

No matter what connections I try, not able to get the D1100 to power on and off like rest of system.

Tried everything under trigger setup on D1100 , nothing seems too work.

Using C70 as preamp.

Not clear how to set up the D1100 as DAC mode only with C70

Fixed output of DAC connected to BAL 1 input on the C70

Trigger power control of D1100

“It is important to make sure the Analog only Preamplifier has the Latest Operational Firmware for proper operation with the D1100.”

Maybe give McIntosh a call on Monday.

I'm curious as to what McIntosh says regarding how to hook up your D1100 to your C70 so that you can do this. From what I see in the D1100 owners manual, I don't think that you can control the D1100 with the C70 because the C70 does not have that special DIN output port that is required for connection to the D1100 like the C1100 has. All power control and data port connections on the back of the D1100 are for control from the D1100 to source components and do not appear to be assignable as input ports. Unless there has been some sort of update, I think you're out of luck. Please post what McIntosh says.

I went through this when I added my C22 to my system. The only preamp that can control the D1100 is the C1100. You can use the D1100 as a DAC with the fixed outputs with any analog pre and it will work great, but you won't be able to control it. The triggers on the D1100 are all out, nothing coming in. You won't be able to power it on via trigger in, you'll have to physically press the power button.

So..... I'm to understand this situation as McIntosh's D1100 preamp won't be a slave to another preamp via trigger ports or vise versa? If this is the case, I'm calling "BS" on them. The MDA1000 is a preamp and is slaved to my C2300. This has to be a design oversight!!! I'm about to buy a D1100 to replace my MDA1000 for my retirement gift to ME!! Gezzzz I'm so thoughtful to ME!!!

Make it a real doozy of a retirement gift and get the C1100/D1100 combo!! Trigger problem solved. Easy as 123. [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]
