HRS Damping Plate / RC Cars
1 Attachment(s)
I was into RC Cars pretty heavily 20+ years ago. I recently decided to get back into the hobby with a 1/8 scale AARMA Typhon.
In the meantime, I’m getting all the needed accessories. Boy has the hobby evolved! Here is my new RC Car stand with an HRS DPX Damping Plate as a weighted base. :p https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1610992580 |
Now that you are a "Cool Grandpa", RC Cars/Trucks make perfect sense again.
Go easy with the 1/8 scale and 70mph models, they pack a ton of energy as E=MC2 and something has to give when they meet a stationary object... Keep yourself and others away from its path. These are not the toys from 20 years ago. I suggest a ramp for jumping action fun and learning to control the model in the air. |
I never knew you were into these things Ivan... I spent 2 months of the Covid lock down also building a Traxxas UDR and super customized it... but I found that after getting it running, the fun was gone... I liked the build process. Anyway, the costs of building my HiFi system took over and now I want to sell the car, but the time and money I put into it makes that hard.

Way cool.
I’ve wanted to get into Traxxas. Where does a guy like me get started (without opening the wallet too much). |

Do you want a more scale look and take it on trails as an off-road vehicle? Do you want to find a local racetrack and race? On road or Off Road? There are many themes and variations these days. On the low end of RC car fun you can do it for a few hundred bucks or it can get into the $1k plus range and higher for really big gas powered models. |
Some of my many other projects but this one does not like to drive on the road... :D https://youtu.be/lLvpV_uT8XU

Ivan, here is an Arrma that will get the adrenaline going. "Infraction"
Awesome for drifting practice. :D Only took me 35 seconds to get into a wreck on my street. :lmao: No big deal, it only took 5 min and $30 worth of parts to get it running again. https://youtu.be/XA355Bmi9U0 |
