New Esoteric K-03 in the studio rack

Never mind this crick in my neck and shoulders from moving two of these K-03 monsters in and out of my rack today, unpacking one and packing the other. It's all good after a little Bailey's Irish Cream.

My new Esoteric K-03 arrived today and she is an absolute beauty. This player was Ivan's at the Cape, you know the one he just bought and put 500 hours of break-in time on, then promptly turned around and ordered the new K-01. Yep! So this brand new K-03 is now my K-03 and is warm and comfy sitting in my studio rack. The best part about it, I don't have to break it in 'cause she's ready to rock with 503 hours on it.

I decided to keep the K-03 on the bottom shelf in the rack so that I could keep all the McIntosh gear stacked together, plus it allowed me room to place my Magnum Dynalab MD205 Signal Sleuth on top of the K-03, protected of course. My McIntosh MR88 tuner is back in the rack and looking good, too.

This K-03 sounds exactly like the demo unit, no difference whatsoever. In other words it is knocking my socks off. It has been a while since I have been this excited about a new component in one of my sound systems and it feels fantastic. Music has taken on a brand new level of realism and excitement that is keeping me drawn to the studio system like a moth to a flame. The Esoteric K-03 is out of this world good.

Here's a photo of the new K-03 in the rack and the demo K-03 on the floor before I wrestled that monster back into its three boxes and got it back on its pallet. One unpack and one repack. I feel like I've been in the ring with the Hulk. Time for another Baileys and some more music. :applause:

Congrats Dan! What a beautiful setup and your new K-03 looks right at home!

Mike.......Thank you. Man, oh man, the sound of this player in nearly unbelievable. It suspends voices and instruments in three dimensional space like a hologram floating in the room. The K-03 is one fabulous digital source component. I'm guessing the new shipment of K-03's that arrived in California won't be there very long.

So nice, congrats Dan very excited for you and I know you will enjoy that fine machine! :)

I have been holding off on the 1100 for so long, and now I think I want to go the direction you have gone, only thing is i would like a multi player or at least support for 5.1 ch sound if they have a model in this high end market. I know little about the Esoteric except from the recent post you all have provided.

The reviews are most impressive to say the least..
