Wireworld Platinum Eclipse 8 vs Audioquest Fire
The WireWorld cables are supposedly a more neutral sounding cable, but is that at the expense of detail? Cables are so system dependant and I don't have the capital to experiment with these way too expensive cables. I posted this ad hoping to get some feedback before I sell my AQ Fire cables and try to find a used pair of WW Platinum Eclipse 8's.

I thought the Fire sounded better than the WW. I plan on waiting for the right Fire to buy so I can unload my WW Platinum 7.
|
I was the opposite, sold my Fire for the WW Platinum Eclipse 8.

I’ve just been lurking; I much prefer the WW Platinum Eclipse 8 over anything offered by AQ including Fire.
I have Platinum Eclipse 8 throughout my “cost no object” reference system. |
I have a WW P7. For me it is resolving and yet deliver some smoothness at the mid range. I like it in my digital setup.
May be others can chime in about difference bet P7 and P8 Haven’t listened a AQ fire myself. From what I read, it is a quite linear, highly articulate and transparent cable. May be unforgiving to certain setup |
I replaced the AQ Earth interconnects with the Fire and it was a big leap forward. I really have no complaints about the Fire, I was just curious about the WireWorld Platinum 8 due to reviews and also the fact that Ivan recommends them. Also the WW Platinum Starlight 7 USB cable sounded more musical to my ears than the Audioquest Diamond USB. I have enjoyed that cable very much. I recently upgraded to the Platinum 8 USB, which is still not broken in, but so far it is beginning to sound very good. Would really like to try the WW Platinum 8 interconnects, but retired and living on a fixed income, have to look for used.
