Very nice watch. Seems unusual for the numeral 4 to be represented as IIII instead of the more traditional IV.

I think most of Cartier watches have it, if not all. Now it must be a tradition.

Actually many clocks and watches that have Roman numerals use IIII, it's a long-standing tradition as old as sundials. I collect antique clocks and all of mine are that way. The explanation I've always heard is that IIII presents more symmetry with VIII on the other side of the dial and looks more balanced.
