Looking for CD Transport Recommendations
Any and all advice appreciated.
Would like to stay at or under $2,500. Will be feeding the DAC section of a C2700. So far, I've short listed a Jay's Audio CDT2-MK3, Lyngdorf CD2, and Sim Audio Moon 260 CDT. Thanks Paul |

Paul, I'm using a Yamaha CD-S2000 as a transport which I feed into a Merason DAC1 via S/PDIF (which sounds better to my ears than via Toslink). Not the ultimate resolution but fairly musical. The unit can also read SACDs but due to Sony proprietary restrictions only connected directly to the preamp via XLR or RCA. The replacement model CD-S2100 retails MRSP $3,000, worth it if you're also considering SACD functionality, otherwise for CD only the models you mentioned all have pretty good user feedback.

Not on your list, but I like McIntosh transports for their SACD functionality through the MCT connection.

I considered the MCD600 for a while but just can't justify the cost. I stream 90% of the time but do miss popping in a disk now and then which is why I'm looking for a decent transport. I don't have SACDs so the ability to play is not really important. |
Audiolab 6000cdt. Plays well about its price point multiple times over. Does well with the DAC2 of the 2700. What I had it connected through also before I started a DAC improvement journey to RME the to dCS Lina.
The 9000 just got released. Debating if I make that jump still |
