James,
Using a BDA-3 with a BCD-3, would an audio improvement be noticed? In other words, the BDA-3 DAC much better than the BCD-3 DAC? I currently have no other sources to use with the BDA-3.

Hi

No advantage -using the BCD-3 into a BDA-3.

I now have one on order.......

Will know this weekend how well this will work with my BCD-3. The BDA-3 will be the foundation to my next inevitable purchase - a music server.

James,
Curious on your thoughts about digital cables - Toslink vs Coax vs AES balanced.

Regarding which one to use?

Also include USB.

Yes, which to use. From a transport to the BDA-3.

Hi

I like XLR due to its Balanced configuration 1st.

Coax is fine.

Toslink is good and one advantage is it eliminates any ground looks or hum due to the signal being light. The downside is you have to go through 2 more conversions as it leaves the source component and again as it arrives at the DAC input.

i typically use USB in my system at home and at audio shows as it is a two-way system and the quality is determined by the DAC it is attached too not the source component.

I have found BNC connections to be the most secure and better for digital signals
