Looking for a Great Loop boat. |
They seem to build a pretty nice and well constructed yacht. Check this link out
https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating...ictures-2.html Their hybrid tech looks quite nice to me. Between diesel power and electric propulsion with all those panels this looks to be a great Loop boat where you will spend a good bit of time on the hook. https://www.greenlinehybrid.com/ Good luck and let us know if you put an order in. |

The hybrid has a Volvo Penta D3-220, the most popular marine engine in use today. Most of the trips on the Great Loop are under 50 miles. Which can be done on battery power (running the diesel charges the batteries in about 1/2 hour). I'm looking at a lightly used 39. Hope go see it after I get vaccinated. |
Are electric boats a thing now? I don't know, it has been a while since I owned a boat and that had a Volvo-Penta in it that would suck the tank dry in a hurry. That was usually over $250 to fill up at the marina at that time. :sigh: Great memories though, we spent many nights on the water with the young kids.
I could go for a Tesla type E-Boat :D |

Greenline Yachts, the worldwide leader in alternative propulsion motorboats, has teamed up with Canal Boats Telemark AS in Norway, W-Yachts and Torqeedo to create the first 100% electric charter fleet in the world.
Canal Boats Telemark will operate six new Greenlines - two 33s and four 39s - all fitted with the shipyard’s revolutionary EDrive system, which was launched at Boot Düsseldorf in 2019. Since then, full electric Greenlines have been sold all over the world including to the USA, Germany and Russia. Thanks to their bank of lithium batteries and electric motors, the Greenline 33 and 39 can cruise silently and without any emissions at a speed of 7 knots and to a top speed of 11 knots. With their battery capacity of 80kWh, they have a range of up to 40nm on a single charge. |
