RIP Ashes
Rough day. I had to euthanize my cat, Ashes today. She had a step change in health this week. She turned 21 last July. She had a great life.

Mike… I’m so sorry for your loss of Ashes. I think folks that never owned a cat, or dog can’t realize just how strong the bond becomes over time. Really not much difference than losing a family member.
|
Know how you feel. Had to put my 'Fat Cat' down last fall, also at the age of 21. He was a great kitty for most all of this century. Like your Ashes, he had a good life. His running mate is still going strong at 22. May Ashes & Fat Cat RIP chasing squirrels in kitty heaven (or wherever).

Thanks guys.

Mike, I am so sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences for your loss. When I had to put the last two cats I had adopted, Eddie and Lucky, down, it was devastating. I grieved each of their loss for a year, respectively.
What I've found that helps to cope with the loss is, when ready, to adopt another companion animal and work to make their life as fulfilling as possible. |
Deeply sorry for your loss, Mike. Have had to put one such good friend down at 21, so I know the void that comes with saying goodbye.
|
I feel your sadness.
Our 19-year-old cat 'Poppy' is also in a bad way. Sleeps 23hrs per day and has trouble walking. I don't think she will make the year out :-( |
