I was really hoping for more out of that room!

My guess is that it was the rockports. I found it sounded very mixed while i was there.

Agree with you guys - this was not a good sounding system.

This tells a lot about how difficult it is to build a musical system.
You just cannot put top components together and think you're done.

What the hell have these guys done at RMAF so different than for the past Munich show?
In May the MSB / Absolare / Echole / Rockport (but the largest Altair II model) demo was simply and truly superb. I was not the only one to notice how good this entire system was. So surprised they have missed the boat for such an important RMAF show...

I think it is a serious risk for an RMAF room to run Vinyl, Vinyl, Vinyl. [The competition is playing a static-free high-res. and remastered recording...]

There's a time and a place for Vinyl, but I think it is tough thing to successfully pull off at these shows.

I agree Karl.
I've seen that in Brussels too.
A couple of years ago, it was vinyl vinyl vinyl.
And it sounded good sometimes, and awful other times. Hit and miss often.
This year vinyl in only one room.
Hi-res and CD in all other rooms, and it was the best Brussels show I have experienced.
