New Reference One Prototype on Display in Tokyo

1 Attachment(s)
New TAD Reference One unfinished prototype (left) shown at the 2018 Tokyo International Audio Show. It stands next to the current model. Not sure I am liking the new color but they look like they want to change things up for a new model. Perhaps they will still offer the existing color in the new model. I wonder what improvements they have in the works.Attachment 57353

I’m sure they will find some way to improve it.

I don't know, I kind of like the more muted color....I think it would go well in a home/room with a more neutral color palette if you didn't want them to stand out.

It may be my imagination but it seems as if price inflation in high end audio exceeds that of virtually all other products save for super-cars.

Yes...manufacturers, distributors et. al. Are all smoking way too much of their own exhaust, very few exceptions IMHO. Shunyata and Legacy are on the short list of world class products at sane prices and there are others. Then there are US-only markups for certain products some of which I own and others offered which have no sane explanation.

Ummm, I’ll just have to stick with the little old mk. 2s.

Does the new model look a little bit bigger or is it the angle from the picture?
