Music direct

Here is something interesting
I bought an album as Advertised Shelby Lynne 200g 33rpm
It got delivered I opened it and immediately thought hmm this seems light for 200g and also could not find anywhere at all any thing about 200g.
I contacted music direct.

There responded by say sometimes they change to 180g and offered me 20% discount. They also say they don’t make the record and don’t have control.

My question is isn’t this false advertising what should I do your suggestions please
Regards Paul

An inadvertent error in an ad isn't false advertising. I'd accept the discount MD offered but if that doesn't suit you, just send it back for a refund.

I thought of that as well.
I am worried now to buy another Lo of them as advertised as they could sell me anything and just wash it off.
It’s also disappointing as shipping costs a boom.

Music Direct is an honorable dealer and I don't think you have any reason to fear them. But I guess taking your business elsewhere is always an option.

I've been buying from Music Direct for many years and only once had a problem. I received the wrong album, they took it back and replaced with the correct album. They're one of the best online music and equipment retailers. As Cleeds points out, either request a return or accept the deal, which seems fair, and buy from them with confidence - everybody makes mistakes.

Music Direct is a fabulous company. They shorted me some Degritter filters once, and not only sent them out the next day but sent two more packs at no cost. Great company.

My experience with MD has been good too - sounds like a mistake vs. malfeasance.

Yep, another vote for MD. They're local to me, so I tend to favor purchasing from them vs other online retailers.

They've been good to me, as well. Even for very minor stuff like a stylus guard on one of my cartridges.

There seems to be more detail needed here to understand the original post...

Did you order the 33rpm or 45? The only 200g of that album seems to be a 45?

MD has taken good care of anything I've ordered going back to early 2000s. That's a lot of amps, speakers, SACD/CD players, transport, DAC, clocks, cables, power conditioners, SACDs and CDs over the years

If a mistake was made (only 1) they fixed it promptly.
