Nakamichi Dragon Door Removal

I'm sending my Dragon in for some much needed service. In order to ship, I need to take the door off of it. Can anyone please explain to me how to do that? I don't want to cause any damage by figuring this out myself!

Thank you.

When I shipped my ZX7 for service I did not remove the door. To keep the door from coming open during shipment I put the deck in a plastic bag and then wrapped tape around the bag across the door to help hold it closed.

Most techs will recommend taking the door off, it doesn't necessarily have to do with the door opening during shipping. Eject the door and then simply lift up a little and it'll come out toward you. This is also what you'll want to do to regularly clean the tape path.

Thank you! The tech was insistent that I take the door off prior to shipping.

Try to not put any packaging in front of the door or most of the front and back of the deck for that matter, original Nak styrofoam was just around the sides and a bit in the front/back corners. That way if there is impact, it won't press against the door/transport and possibly damage plastic standoffs or anything else on the front of the deck.

Did the Dragon make it to the repair shop?
