HW-40 Black Edition
VPI recently announced what I assume is a standard production run HW-40: https://vpiindustries.com/products/hw-40-black-edition

The HW-40 was a huge hit for VPI, hence them bringing back a Special Black Edition.

The only knock I have on it is that it isn't the Classic "piano black" look to it. That would be the ONE change I wish I could make on my HW-40, but personally I like the wood panels better than the looks of the HW-40 Black. Again, just me. I also like the fact the MSRP wasn't $22,000 when I bought mine :)

Didn’t you get a HW-40. If so, how do you like it? How’s it compare to other tables you have enjoyed? |
Good looking TT but $22k!!!!

The HW-40 is a superb turntable and I am glad I got mine when I did through Ivan. I would venture to say it is bulletproof. With the Cadenza Black one cannot go wrong. The black edition is certainly nice looking. If you really wanted a black edition you could paint your side panels satin black.

One thing I just noticed on the black edition is that the tonearm wires are not internal like on the HW-40. Wonder why. I like the cleaner look.
