Just Ordered the Schiit Loki
I've been kind of stressing lately over the fact that I purchased the Bryston BDA-2 not knowing that a DSD-capable BDA-3 was waiting in the wings. My 70 or so SACD titles are in the process of being ripped to ISO/DSF and I wanted some way to play them "natively' while I figure out what I'm going to do about an eventual 1-box PCM/DSD solution. Seems like the Loki is pretty highly regarded around here and a great temporary solution for playing 1XDSD files.
Files will be housed on my NAS and played via JRiver 20 on my Silenzio, so this should give me plenty of options for directing files to the appropriate DAC depending on format. I can't believe this thing is only $149! |
You're gonna love it. And you will be amazed as to how good it sounds, $149 or no...

Got the LOKI hooked up and singing (thanks to -E-) and playing a couple DSD downloads. I am certainly impressed with what this little Schiit puts out. Nice detail, and overall a nice soundstage. This will definitely keep me covered for DSD until I bite the bullet on the BDA-3 or another all in one DAC. Albikes is busy with my SACD collection. Can't wait to get those rips back then I'll really be able to compare with the spinners.
