Jaguar XF

I drove to Jacksonville today, and stopped by the Jaguar dealership. I spent an hour looking over the new 2010 Jaguar XF. It is an impressive vehicle. After talking with an older salesman who was very polite gentleman, and not the least bit pushy, I went for a test drive. My first impression was the tightness of the entire vehicle, and a firmness to the 4 wheel independent suspension. The 5.0, 385 hp V8 engine has plenty of power for the Jags 4200 lbs, and with great ease it immediately responds to acceleration, braking, and steering commands. The cabin is very quiet, both in town, and on the Interstate at 80 mph.

All the toys are there, navigation, 13 speaker sound system with subwoofer, voice activate controls, bluetooth and iPod interface, keyless ignition and entry, soft comfortable leather seating, leather dash and door panels, real walnut burl on the dash, doors, and console expertly installed and finished, sun roof, heated and cooled seating, blind spot sensor and warning system, traction control, six speed electronic automatic transmission with paddle shifter controls on the back of the steering wheel, and a large number of additional useful features.

The Jaguar XF is a very attractive, highly spirited British made luxury sedan with great performance. I hated to return the vehicle to the dealership parking lot. This could easily be my next vehicle. I need to test drive the Audi S5 next.

That's one lovely car Dan. It will be nice to hear a comparison with the Audi. I think Jaguar has substantially improved the repair frequency that plagued Jag in the 70's and 80's.

So far, I am extremely pleased with my S5.

Rock......the 2009 Jaguar XF was #2 on JD Powers List last year for customer satisfaction, and lowest repairs. Jaguar has come a long way, baby!

By the way, Elle McPhearson was looking really good at the launch party for the Jaguar XJ.

Ivan.......I am going back into Jacksonville tomorrow to the Audi dealer. I'll give the S5 some solid attention, and a test drive. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the Jaguar experience I enjoyed today.

The Jaguar XF has some sweet lines, even when parked next to the XK.

The Jaguar XF interior is very well appointed and comfortable. Leather and burl walnut everywhere, light blue lighting on buttons and switches are all attractive. Perfect for the McIntosh guy.

I looked at it when I picked up my CTS. The XF listed for about $3k ($55k) more, I was able to walk out the door with the CTS for $14k less. The XF has better lines for sure.

The Jaguar XF looks really sweet in black, too.
