iPod data transfer

I have a bunch of iPods from days gone by with good quality flac files on them. It is my understanding iPods had to be setup on the same computer, or the music could be lost. Does anyone know how to transfer the music safely off, or simply copy it? I would like to transfer what I have to one of my Silenzios.

Thanks!

Bob, my wife who is the tech savvy person of the family, says she's done it in the past with iExplorer.
It's a software that you can use for free the first 10 days.
Meta did it the last time in 2020, so I hope my information is still valid.
Good luck!

If you're using iPod Classics, you can't beat JRiver Media Center for this task. It will also let you work with any playlists you might have.
