Very positive review - this could cost me $$$ :)

Nice review. Thanks for sharing.

Love mine. I thought it was a big improvement over my C2300.

Damn you Paul! Just when I had stopped thinking about the C1100. |
Craig, I couldn't help myself. You know you want one. If you are ever up in my area feel free to stop by to see how it mates with the Strads.

How does this compare to the MC phono stage built into the C2600?
|
I have never heard the C2600 phono stage, but to me the C1100 is similar to the C2300 phono stage. I didn't use either. I prefer the Audio Flight phono stage which is what I used with the C2300 and the C1100. That is my only drawback with the C1100. I haven't heard the new McIntosh phono stage yet - not sure if it is out yet.

Wow impressive review. Was really liked and seemed to shine at every turn. Being an owner of a 500c 500t it really starts to drive the itch of how much better in terms of depth space and openness of the sound stage is reviewed compared to the 1000 and I feel it would be the same against my 500. Add to that more tubes and yet a quieter noise floor will all the same functions I enjoy now while keeping the spirit of a true 2 ch system and adding a few options and features. Those of which I doubt I would use.
Hmm maybe I need to audition the unit and possible trade in upgrade with my dealer :) |
It's a gorgeous piece. I sold my C500 stack last year and subsequently bought the C1100. Just installed it this week. Sounds incredible fresh out of the box
