PM-11S1 all outputs have constant static
I got home, and my amp is putting out constant static out of all outputs, without any signal being input including the headphone jack. Very light, static that almost sounds like it’s rolling, on off, on off. It’s been a great amp, no issues.
I’m 1.5 hrs from Houston. I don’t know what to do with it. Any ideas |
Try disconnecting each input, one at a time. followed by the speakers. Then ask Ivan. Believe he is sells Marantz and should be able to direct you to their service folks.

My initial guess would be that one of your HDMI cables is grounded. Try and check the ones from the source to the receiver.
Hope this helps. :) |

I wrote Ivan. The static is there with zero inputs connected, its unrelated to the volume/channel/speaker set A/B can be both off. I disconnected everything, all inputs and speakers, and plugged in headphones. Same thing. Sounds like a crappy radio station. I changed power cords and used various outlets, I pulled the cover and blew the dust out. Long overdue apparently. Looked around for cooked electronics and nothing.
For the guys that aren't up on the previous gear, this is the original PM-10. |
I would contact Marantz direct for their advice on the closest local repair center to you.
Marantz America, Inc., 100 Corporate Drive, Mahwah, NJ 07430. Tel: (800) 654-6633 Fax: (201) 762-6686 |
