"Stellantis, parent company of Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, announced this morning that it's teaming with battery maker LG to produce lithium-ion battery cells and modules in a North American plant.
Separately, Toyota Motor North America announced it will spend $1.3 billion, part of a larger $3.4 billion, nine-year investment plan, to set up a U.S. lithium-ion-battery plant to supply U.S.-market hybrid and electric vehicles."

Note that Toyota says 'electrified vehicles.' Although that includes, electric and hybrid, the company's thrust will be fuel cell that also requires a battery, but just one.

Toyota has made it clear that they’re still focused on hybrid vs all-electric. They’ve said this is a more reasonable way to transition to more environmentally friendly vehicles rather than go to electric, and are spending lots of lobbying money right now to try to make that case. They’ve already made the biggest investment of any automaker in hybrids, so they’re hoping to ride that horse as long as they can.
