I search for cover versions of popular songs and have found some real gems (Kid Rock covering Werewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama in All Summer Long etc).

I stumbled across an entire album of covers that are just phenomenal - What is Hip, Vol I. Some enterprising techno artists took master tapes from many 70s and 80s hits, extracted the vocals and key instrumental elements, and remixed adding a modern dance beat with heavy emphasis on bass. The songs include Listen to the Music, Summer Breeze, Ventura Highway, Dream Weaver etc.

You can find it on Quboz if interested...the added bass lines are powerful, clear and complement the sampled parts of the original songs. They really make my subs dance, which was the whole point...
