New Streaming Unit Suggestions
 

I’ve settled in with my new McIntosh MA12000 and Focal Diablo Utopia III and I’m loving the synergy. In this system I’m currently using my BlueSound Vault 2i for streaming. I kinda want to drop a hint to Santa that I’m ready for a streaming unit upgrade. Looking for a Roon Ready device. Highest Res numbers a bonus. And MQA.

I’d love your suggestions/feedback.

I have been good! Also I think my budget is open. I assume I could find what I’m looking for between 3-5k ...I’ve just never explored this option having graduated thru the years from Sonos to BlueSound. I’m ready for the next thing.

Auralic Aries G2.1 has been getting good reviews

It doesn't appear from you signature that you own a dedicated DAC so does that mean you need a combination DAC/Streamer? While the Aries G 2.1 would be my first choice too as a streamer if you need both pieces it's either a combo unit like Auralic Altair G1 or the Aries G1 and a separate DAC. Other all in one option in your price range would be the Lumin T2.

My dealer offered to let me take home a dcs network bridge. It doesn’t have the highest resolution numbers, but it sounds amazing. I’m using it with roon through the coax spdif (it does not have usb out) and it does do mqa. I’ve not heard the Auralic but they get lots of great reviews. I’d ask your dealer to test drive a few in your system.

If you’re looking for a streaming dac, the Auralic Vega G1 should be excellent at about $4k, or the Vega G2 at $6500.
