Vintage Electronics Repair Techs

Can anyone recommend a really good (fully competent) repair tech that knows his way around vintage gear?

At some point I want to send my Marantz 2240B in for a re-cap and full service. She still runs well, but takes a bit of time to adequately warm up and get her blood flowing. At nearly 50 years of age her caps can't last forever I reckon.

Yes, I found him last night from a Yahoo search. His website features his cartridge repair service but makes no mention of any other type of repairs. I suppose no harm in reaching out to him.

Has he done any repair work for you?

Yes. He serviced my Crown tape deck and he currently is going over my McIntosh MR-80. He's an expert.

VAS also manufactures its own preamp and amplifier.

Mike Williams at Radio X in Flint, MI would ge a good choice for any piece of gear with a tuner in it it.
hifitechATcomcast.net (replace AT with an @ sign), or call him at (810) 919-6562.

^^ I like your persistence, but the boys in Vegas would say you're making your point the hard way. :D

I have your recommendation duly noted.

Mike mostly specializes in tuners only, you may be in for a long wait if you want a full service on a receiver from him. He is definitely one of the best in the biz for tuner alignments, restorations and mods though.
