Electrostatics are Incredible !!!!!!!
After having using JM Focal Labs, Dali dynamic speakers, for last 10 years forgot how good panel speakers can be:music:
The stereo shop I work at had the pair of Acoustat Spectra 22 traded in this week, the same pair of speakers I owned as new in 1990, serial numbers same as my speakers ( always keep records ) Of course I re-claimed the speakers before they could be resold again:yes: I realize they do not sound the same as current Martin Logan we sell at stereo shop I work at but electrostatics still sound better to me than any box speaker:banana: Made decision to save up for Martin Logan CLX as these is what I really want. Listening to Acoustats again has made music fun and enjoyable again - incredible sound  Dan |
Never heard a pair, but know I'm missing something. I just don't have the room.
Congrats, it's like meeting your ex again. :D |
I like to try some Maggies in my room. Someday...

Always been a fan of ESL's, especially when you sit in that very pinpointed sweet spot.

I used to have Apogee Duetta ribbon speakers. I really loved them, one of the best late night speakers. I think that kind of sound is what drew me into my Nola Micros and my Alon Signatures before them. Open baffle dipole ribbon type speakers, wonderful.

If you want to have big fun on a low budget, grab a pair of Acoustat 2+2's...
You can probably find a pair for about 1500 bucks and they are pretty amazing. |
I find the electrostatic sounds quite soothing, but my old pair wouldn't stand up to the volumes I used to listen to.
|
Which electrostats did you have? My pair of Vantages in my psuedo-HT can play loud and clean to make you deaf.
|
Dan, how are your saving efforts going for the CLX's? I am really enjoying the Summit X's! The better the gear the better they get!
