Would like to find out too. But I’m debating between telefunken or GL.

I am a former owner of the c2500 and I would most definitely go for the Gold Lions. They opened up the sound and was more dynamic. A worthy investment IMHO.

You don’t have to replace them all. If your not using a turntable you just have to replace 2 tubes. I believe it was the 2 to the furthest right if looking from the front.

If you are using a turntable then just replace the 2 additional tubes for type of cartridge you are using. MM or MC.

Gold Lions seem to have better synergy with McIntosh gear.

Here I have been sitting on a set of GL's for my C2600 as backup but will go ahead and try them now. I am guessing my factory ones have about 4000 hours on them. How much time to burn in the GL's?
