Maxima Amator
 

I'm digging the style/looks and I like that it is a 2 way. Should sound pure and refined. :yes:

The two-way design has been a strong piece of brand identity for Sonus faber products. In general, hi-fi enthusiasts deem the two-way loudspeaker system as one of the purest systems achievable. For this reason, the Maxima Amator was a fun project for us, serving as the glorification of successfully merging two speakers to achieve a unique emotion with the maximum representation of the ``Voice of Sonus faber” – a goal to achieve natural sound.

I have the Minima Amators in a smaller system with tubes and love the sound, these should be very nice indeed.

The Luxman SQ-N100 and Minima Amators. Sounds like a very sweet combo to me. :music:

Same drivers as the Electa Amator III - new crossover and tuned cabinet. Not enough for me to change out my EAIII. Anyone know the retail $?

The enclosure is built with 1" (25 mm) slabs of solid walnut and the front baffle and rear panel are covered in soft leather. $15000. The Electa Amator III retailed at $10000. I can’t seem to justify a 50% increase in price for basically a larger cabinet and a few tweaks.

It is not an inexpensive speaker but taking into consideration the solid slab of walnut, the leather, the marble... It is priced accordingly in today's realm.

Kevin, are you still running a sub? The principal difference seems to be bass extension: 40db in the Electa vs 35 in the Maxima. If you didn’t already have the Electa, the Maxima would be very nice, but I agree not enough difference to justify the upgrade cost when you already have a gorgeous speaker that only lacks a little bass extension, easily compensated for with a good sub.

Very nice. Have always preferred 2-way speakers and is likely the primary reason I usually listen to monitors. I do find it interesting that the Electra and Minima are both set up to bi-wire and the Maxima is not.
