Outer Ring Locator and Clamp

Recommendations.

Do you leave the Outer Ring and Clamp on the platter when not using your TT?

Sure do, that is after I give both of them a quick clean and wipedown. The outer ring clamp is a magnet for fingerprints.

Yes.

Yup, I keep it on because it's also the best place for me to "store" it. Somehow though, my ring has collected several small "dings" on its inner lip over the years :(

keeping them together is best , I misplaced mine few times , now always together and close to my TT !

cheers

Now keep in mind that if you have the magnetic bearing it may take effect on the magnets over long period of time and they are $$ to replace .

No outer ring. Too heavy to handle around very fragile carts & tonearms for me.

For a clamp, I've been very pleased with my Stillpoints LPI. I've loaned to two friends who are very cautious about tweaks. The 1st one ordered his own and the second refused to return so I had to order another for my use (I did 'owe him' for help he has provided over the years). They are that good.
