NAS question
Is a NAS the best way to "feed" a streamer/network player ? This is in comparison to playing files directly off an internal HD inside a streamer/network player ?
When I say better..I'm referring to sound quality, and over all smoother operation ? Also, my router is in close proximity to my audio system. Would I need to relocate a NAS to an area away from my listening /gear area ? Because of noise. Also, If your going to exclusively use a NAS as your music source, should I purposely purchase a streamer/network player without any internal HD ? Any and all help is much appreciated. I'm a long time audiophile who understands analogue, digital...not so much. Thanks in advance. |

Excellent advice above. To that I would one comment:
While wireless is very good these days, wired ethernet is still the best. If you can make a wired connection from your (remote) NAS to your streamer, that becomes a very good solution. If not, a silent PC as mentioned above becomes more attractive. |
