Momentum Amp/Preamp Power Draw
I can't seem to find info on how much power the Momentum preamp and stereo power amp draws when idle. I thought I read somewhere where the amp draws the same as an iPhone being charged. I leave both on 24/7 but it gets mighty hot here in the summer and I'm trying my best to conserve electricity. Any info is appreciated.

Sorry if this sounds off putting but at the price of that equipment, I have to believe the manufacturer would answer your question.

I can assure you that they draw considerably more than an iPhone charging; please tell us you didn’t believe that. ;)

Call D’Agostino’s offices in Arizona. They have always been more than willing to answer any questions I have posed. I leave my amps on but always turn off my prep and dCS gear.

The HD Preamp specs are on the website, says <1 watt at idle. The S250 amp spec is in the manual, which says the same thing as the pre: <1 watt at idle.

Standby is not the same as Idle.
ie: my Burmester 911 MK3 Standby <3 watts Idle 95 watts |

“Standby power is electrical power used by equipment while switched off or not performing their primary function, often waiting to be activated by a remote controller. That power is consumed by internal or external power supplies, remote control receivers, text or light displays, circuits energized when the device is plugged in even when switched off.” |
Oops, yes, I missed that it’s standby, not idle.
