Alco's Rule ..............

...... at least that's the rule of thumb on our railroads.

'Zephyr24069' and I got into a little off subject discussion on the Esoteric forum and he enlightened me that his Dad worked for Alco (American Locomotive Company) back in the day. So I thought I'd post up a current video of some of our vintage Alco's performing their daily ritual in hauling freight on our Delaware Lackawanna railroad out of Scranton, Pa. The white and gray paint scheme has become our corporate colors, these units are fresh out of the shop this year in new paint.

We have a rooster of 36 Alco's , the newest of which was built at the very end of their existence before morphing into GE.

Great video...beautiful times of the year to capture trains at their finest; deep snowfall is another peraonal favorite!

In the days of steam I was partial to Alco, Baldwin and Lima creations too!!!

Great video, Dave. Somehow I think those engines are more than a "hobby" for you.
I'll forward to my brother, who is partial to the Alco line and more esoteric Fairbanks Morse engines, having served on an icebreaker powered by them while in the Navy.

However, I want to know when the AAf railroad tour ride with lunch is scheduled? ;)
Do your lines have anything to do with that great hotel/station in Scranton?
