New OB1i owner
 

I just bought a used pair of OB1is in cherry. I should have them within a week. The two amps I have to use with these are a Citation 2 and a Marantz Reference 11s1, both with the matching preamps. The Citations are completely rebuilt. Which is more likely to be a good match in a fairly small room and at reasonable volumes? Music ranges from classical to rock, with a particular emphasis on acoustic jazz and Electric blues.

If you get an opportunity, try a McIntosh autoformer amp using the 4 ohm binding posts. This will take the performance of the OB1i up another level.

Congrats !
PMC speakers are awesome and they have a unique sound. A blend of neutrality and charm, with wonderful bass, mids to die for, and highly extended but sweet treble. They sound true to the music and one can listen to them all day long without fatigue.

I only used Mc amps and a pair of Manley Snappers with my EB1i so I cannot comment more on the best amp to use within your choices.
Here, most folks use either Mc or Bryston amps to drive them.

Congrats on your PMC's. I love mine. I have only used Mc amps so I can't comment on other brands.

I do also have an MC352, but that's in the large room driving my Martin Logan's. The PMCs are going in my study. And I really don't want to move the Mac across the house!

OK, the PMCs arrived Friday. I started out using the Citation 2, but have switched to the Marantz Reference gear. So far I'm happy - the sound is very clean and transparent, especially the bass
