So Dan, you going for the Amati Anniversario's? It would be nice to read your reviews on them!

Jerry.......No Anniversario's for me. No room. I am enjoying the SF Cremona Auditor's a lot. Driven by the MC275 amps in mono with the C1000T preamp, and the XLS112 subwoofer, the Auditor's present a very enjoyable listening experience. The more I listen, the more I like the whole tube system.

You can't go wrong staying with the SF auditors for awhile. With all the other stuff in that room you are limited and without tripling what you spent on those speakers I doubt you will find anything better.

David.......There is a nice pair of Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario speakers on Agon. Might look good in your system.

I can buy a local pair, with warranty, for quite a bit less than those and I still can't get myself to pull the trigger. I like them, I think they are a more refinded speaker, but even after hours of listening to them I still balk at the purchase. And that's because I get home and listen to the same music and like what I hear better at home.

I know there can be any number of reasons for that, and the only way i'll be swayed towards the purchase is to bring them home for a few days and really see if I think they are better in my house. The thought of moving my speakers, and those speakers doesn't feel me with joy.

Then there's the thought that i'd just be better of just buying Strads. Or, I could just buy a pair of XR200's.

Amati Palladio - I await delivery of mine form Italy - EXCITED.

I am looking at the Simaudio Moon W7 or W8 to drive them and wonder who thinks I should get the more powerful W8?

W7 = 150wpc to 8 ohms [doubling to 4 ohms]
W8 = 250wpc to 8 [also doubling to 4 ohms]

I think the speakers may enjoy the extra power, despite not 'needing' it per-se.

Any thoughts folks??

Thanks for the welcome and yes I truly look forward to the arrival of my new kit, hopefully before Christmas! A nice present to myself, me-thinks!

They say that high-end costs "an arm and a leg" and mine is coming about after a motorbike accident that cost me a large degree of the use of my arm.....

I thought 'what the hell' if I've been through a crap couple of years as a result of that, I deserve to treat myself. At least 'something' good will come of it!

;-)
