Well then, that says a lot about the MC-754 but I'm not too surprised... I have an MC-752 and love it. Slightly less power than the 754 but it sounds great to me.
The title of this thread was supposed to start with LIB, as in "well, I'll be..." and I thought I typed it correctly... guess not unless it changed somehow.

Hi Dan. I was reading the web site while eating my lunch. Noticed a post in regards to MC754. Asking how to verify whether it was David O'Brien's amp. Well, I have the book of serial number listings and it says that the serial number FD1205 was indeed signed out to David O'Brien on 10/6/92. Thought whomever might want to know. Sharon There you go. Straight from the person at McIntosh who knows. Many thanks to Sharon for sharing this with us.

...but was it THAT David O'Brien???
![]() He has 1 bid on it (says 3 but all 3 are the same guy and same amount - $649). I may have to put in a bid tomorrow... it would be only a slight step up from my MC752, but may be worth it at around $700. I bought mine at the same place for $415 plus shipping but it could bring $500. My thanks go out to Dan and Sharon! |

Beans.......Jump on it. That would be a very nice keepsake momento. $1100.00 new in 1992. You'll probably have to snipe it right at the end of the auction, providing the recent bidder doesn't have some rediculous hidden bid.
