Default The JL F112 Thread

The point here is to start a great place for one stop shopping for information related to the JL F112. Any comments on set up ie setting crossover freq., room placement, setting phase etc. from other's with this sub. are appreciated I am going to be trying the F112 initially in my 2 channel room which has a pair of Cremona's . I am very curious because this sub may end the desire to upgrade to the Elipsa's as both have similar midrange and tweeter however I have heard so many great things about this sub. that this may make more sense. The next experiment will be to try the F112 in my home theater room which has Magnepan MGIII's. I have a velodyne sub. in the home theater room now but it is not in the same league as the JL and it is 10 years old. I have had to turn the volume way down on my velodyne as it is not easy to integrate and tends to be rather boomy, makes a annoying rattling sound like something is loose inside the sub and it is not very musical . Since box speakers and planar speakers are totally different any suggestions regarding set up and integration are appreciated. Serge, I'm talking to you

For the fear of getting carpal tunnel typing all the info, I'll just help you set it up. Great choice on going with the JL Fathom sub.

David.......Congratulations. I hope you ordered two. One to go with the SF speakers in the two channel room, and one to go with the Maggies in the home theater.

This is a possibility after I test the JLf112 in both rooms. I just hope I don't end up with 4 (2 in each room)
