Default Acura Driven By Reason Sales commercial highlights a tube amp...

Check it out folks. If you have seen recent ads for Acura, there is an ad that showcases folks making excuses for indulging in their luxuries and then they show a spot with a guy next to a tube amp and he says: "...this produces frequencies that only a dog can hear..."

The thrust ofcourse is that people rationalize their luxuries with ridiculous reasons but that buying an Acura is a very "rational" choice for a luxury. I found not the exact same spot on the TV but links to bits that didn't make it into the final montage on TV but there is one with the tube amp, one for watches and for a pool table. The one for the tube amp is the same guy and amp shown in the TV spot where he says "it produces frequencies only a dog can hear" but this spot is probably the different takes that didn't make it into the final TV version. Check them out they are kind of funny:

Cyril.......The tube amp spot is funny. "There's real gas in those tubes." The watch spot is hilarious, too.

What I found most amusing is the essence created that nobody really cares except the person bragging. Pretty close to real life.

+1 !!

But, to me, it is more reasonnable to buy a tube amp than an Acura car.
A car that have 4 wheels and a motor, will bring you anywhere you need to go, at 55 to 65 MPH limited speed in the US. There is no "reasonable" reason to have a powerful and luxury car.
To me, there is a reasonable reason to have a tube amplifier. I just enjoy the music better this way.

NO Cyril !! it isn't !
Not because I don't like luxury cars : I like them a lot but I just think they are not useful...
I have 2 kids, bicycles and so on so I have an Opel ZAFIRA. ( 7 rooms )
Moreover I don't drive a lot cause I live 2 miles from my office.
I will probably have a nice car one day, but for the moment, I find my 2301's tube amps more "useful" !
